The computer geek.
Have you ever heard of this name before? It’s the name that people that know nothing about computer give to people that do really know about computers. Such kind of person is generally a true computer savvy and probably with some respectable hacking skills plus something else that is too complicated to try to explain to a non computer geek.
How can you find one?
Myth One: The computer geek wears huge glasses! Almost all the time the true computer geeks wears big glasses so he can protect his own eyes while he is working. Go to an office and see the ones that have the biggest glasses you have ever seen. They are probably your man. However there are some respectable exceptions to this rule. Sometimes a person can wear glasses because she has some kind of eye birth defect or the computer geek can wear no glasses at all.
Myth Number Two: The computer geek is always attached to a computer. This is both true and false. I know some computer geeks that hate computers. They dispise them, they even wished that computers disepeared from the earth. Such people are tech savvy but in spite of being so they still don’t like to stare to a machine screen the entire day. So do not use this rule as a 100% fool proof.
Of course most of the computer geeks I know even sleep with the computer by their side (me….) and they never turn the computer off, because the computer is finishing downloading that cool movie and other cool stuff that you will probably no understand.
Myth Three: The computer geek is smart but poor. It’s true that computer professions are very bad paid but some computer genius manage to make a ton of money with the computer. They know how to set a business just using the computer and plus they know how to make hard cold green cash from that same business. What do you call to that person? Computer Genius! Most of computer people are not genius to make that money however…
Myth Four: The computer geek never sleeps. He enjoys the computer while he should be sleeping. Yes and no. Most computer people do sleep at night, even so they sleep very little time. For example, I never sleep more than just 4 hours per night. Sometimes not even on the weekends because I prefer to be on the internet.
Myth Final: The computer geek is an hacker! Yes and yes! Every computer geek knows how to hack in systems and drain some information from that place. As you can immagine it’s easy for us to di it but we almost never do it.
